Following the previous film ‘Godzilla vs. Biollante'(1989), the 18th installment of the series was directed by Kazuki Ōmori and featured special effects directed by Koichi Kawakita. In 1992, a UFO carrying people from the 23rd century appears over Tokyo. They announce that future Japan will be destroyed due to nuclear contamination caused by Godzilla’s destruction of nuclear power plants, and they have come to alter history and save Japan. The government decides to time travel to the era before the dinosaur transforms into Godzilla in an attempt to erase Godzilla’s existence from history. The operation seems to have succeeded, but… King Ghidorah reappears, and an intense battle ensues.
